The arctic fox moults twice a year: in winter, it dons a white coat to blend more effectively into snowy landscapes, while in summer, its coat becomes very dark. Its long, bushy tail protects its paws and muzzle from the cold when it sleeps.

Menaces et conservation

The arctic fox has been driven out of certain regions due to competition with predators such as the red fox. Humans have also hunted it extensively for its fur. Despite this, population shave remained relatively stable.
